Design and construction under one contract.
You hire one team for the whole project. We bring in the architect and engineers, or work with yours, price the work while it is being designed, and carry it through permits, construction and turnover.
Why owners choose design-build
Budget set early.
Cost guides the design from the first sketch, so you're not redesigning after bids come back high.
A faster path to opening.
Design, permitting and ordering long-lead equipment overlap instead of waiting on each other.
One team accountable.
When questions come up, one team answers them. There's no handoff between designer and builder.

Explore- What is design-build?
- A delivery method where one company holds a single contract for both design and construction. The owner works with one team instead of hiring an architect and a contractor separately.
- Can I bring my own architect?
- Yes. Many clients do, and we work alongside their design team. If you don't have one, we bring in architects and engineers we work with regularly.
- How is design-build different from construction management?
- With design-build, we're responsible for design and construction under one contract. With construction management, you hire the architect directly, and we advise on budget and schedule during design, then manage construction.
- Does design-build cost more?
- Not in itself. Pricing the design as it develops helps owners avoid the redesign that happens when bids come in over budget.
- Where does Knight Contracting Group offer design-build?
- Across Texas, from our office in Flower Mound.
